25th ANNIVERSARY GAME/MEAL - Held on Sunday 30th September 2007 and brought together some of Lyne's greatest ever players along with the today's rabble. A day of cricket was followed by a fantastic buffet followed by awards. Well done and thanks to all who took part! a quick summary from the chairman.....
What can i say, this game
had everything - Danny run out by his team-mate and going off for a sulk,
legends bowling till their arms seized up, batsmen running at the pace of a
constipated snail, and that was only the young Lyne batters.
An event worthy of the 25 years that had gone before.
Thanks to Keith and his wife for putting on a fantastic tea.
my apologies for coming up with the bright idea of awarding the medals in order
of appearance at the crease thus forgetting the club captain, treasurer and
fixtures secretary who had not played in the game.
The oldies that did turn out showed what a great spirit there has been at this
club for a long time
see you all at Francesco's for a bit of a do part two.

Lyne six-a-side 2006:
Lyne CC were blessed with fine weather for the 5th Annual Lyne C.C. 6-a-side tournament and a large crowd consisting of family and friends of the eight competing teams were entertained by some exciting games.
As always the Tournament was organised and superbly marshalled by Trent Phillips who ensured matches got underway close to the scheduled start time. The format was based on two Leagues followed by Semi-finals and a Final to decide the winners of the prestigious Trophy.
After a day of great cricket, many beers, a top bbq and some good laughs Lyne six came out triumphant for the second year running. The report can be found here.
The Lyne CC Chairman and the club members would like to thank the following who helped in making this 5th Annual 6-a-side event an outstanding success :
John Giles, Mark Pipe, and Adam Dix for preparing the grounds, Chris Plumbridge for his shopping expeditions to Tesco (Every little helps!), Paul Carter who never once moved from is scoring post throughout the whole day, Tina Bristow and her Dad Bob who ran the drinks tent and helped with the Bar-B-Q, to Andy Marston for donating the use of the Bouncy Castle and to Roger Dix for collecting and transporting, to all the Players who made it such an enjoyable and sporting competition, to all the Family and Friends who came along to support and help make the day such a great fun occasion…..…….and finally special thanks to Trent Phillips for his hard work and time in organising the whole event. We hope to see you all next year!
2006 - The season so far.........
We find ourselves half way through the season, with it certainly being a successful one thus far. The positives being some good performances both individually and as a team, and with us only being rained off the once we've certainly done well to dodge the weather.
The six-a-side is in the coming weeks, so lets all hope the forecast is a good one and a good day will be enjoyed by all. I'm sure the lager industry will be more than hoping so, as I have no doubt fosters profits will hit the annual peak on the same day as previous years.
If you are yet to pledge your availability for both playing and lending a hand at the six-a-side, then please do so soon. The more help and assistance, the better the day will be for all.
A reminder NO SPIKES are to be worn on the new surface!
*Remember to keep checking your emails and the Message Board to view team selections, news and fixtures etc... Even if this means fighting your way through the constant 'Tealey Chronicles' that have a distinct similarity to that of the Sun's 'Dear Deidre'!
